 Welcome to BNF Hobby On-Line.  For the past 31 years, I have operated a full line hobby shop in Bakersfield, CA.  B & F specialized in Model Railroad, R/C Planes, Plastic Models, Hobby Tool, Airbrush Equipment, Model Ships and Model Rockets.

On July 31st, I closed the store, in which I have operated for the past 31 years, and have moved into a new location.  The new address is 1918 Eye Street, Bakersfield, CA 93301. 

I will continue to sell HOn30 and On30 Model Railroad Equipment and all accessories associated with both of these gauges.  Nearly all of the other scales of Model Railroad Supplies will be discontinued.  Also, I will no longer be stocking any other hobby equipment; which means no R/C Equipment, No Model Rocketry, No Plastic Models and No Model Ships.

I would like to take this time to thank all of my customers for the many years of support and for those no modeling in HOn30 or On30, I will miss you.

MICRO ENGINEERING MATCHING TURNOUTS - HOn30

By mid-August, there will be code Code 70 HOn30 turnouts available on Micro Engineering weathered ties (which match the color and size of ME's HOn30 flex track), with pc board attached on the rail base to prevent any changes of gauge.  Turnouts being offered in the initial run are going to be the #5's & #6's.  Also, following shortly will be #4's and #8's.  Curved turnouts will be offered in 6's & 8's as well.  These should start being available by August 20th.  We are have been taking orders.

BNF Hobby Starter Sets - HOn30

B&F Hobby Shop is working on releasing an HOn30 starter set in early October.  This set will contain the Mocalova Round Roof Diesel Loco (built on the Bachmann N Scale MDT Diesel Mechanism), a Railway Recollection 20' gondola, an 18' box car and a 16' bobber caboose. The set will also include an oval of Bachmann N Scale Nickel Silver EZ track, Connector and an MRC 1300 Transformer. The set will contain an instruction book, containing information on the HOn30 Home Depot and the HOn30 yahoo groups.  Hopefully these starter sets will encourage more modelers to consider HOn30 modeling.

LOCOMOTIVES -HOn30

ATLAS CONVERTED HOn30 R-T-R SHAY 

      Atlas has announced that a new run of their 3-Truck Shay is expected

      in January of 2007.  We have reserved many of these units, in order to

      produce Shays for the needs of our HOn30 customers.    The new Shay

      has been redesigned,  with an insulated motor for easy installation of

      a DCC decoder.  

      These Shay locomotives are built upon the Atlas N Scale Shay chassis.  The

      conversion is done by adding a resin cab casting and fuel bunker.  If you

      special order one of these fine running models, you may have a choice of

      having a wood load or a fuel oil bunker to complete your model.  These

      models are being built by Tom Price and come completely built, detailed,

      painted, weathered and have Micro Train couplers installed.  For custom

      paint, numbering or specially applied details, we will quote you a price for

      the extra work.  One advantage over other HOn30 Shay locos is that with

      the Atlas Shay (the mechanism) spare parts are available and that you

      could always return the mechanism to Atlas if there is a serious problem.

These units are custom built to order.   You not only have your choice of road name and number, but you may elect to have it built either as an oil burning or wood burning loco (wood burner shown above).
